Places to visit in Kerry

Skellig Michael:  The larger of the famous Skellig Rocks that lie eight miles outside Ballinskelligs Bay. George Bernard Shaw called it "An incredible, impossible, mad place. I tell you the thing does not belong to any world that you and I have lived and worked"

Cill Rialaig pre-famine village is situated on the side of the mountain overlooking Ballinskelligs. One or two of the houses have been renewed and accommodate travelling artists from all over the world.

The 1500 year old Gallerus Oratory is perfectly preserved and is one of many impressive sites in Dingle.

Queen Victoria stayed in Muckross House in 1861. Nearby Muckross Abbey and numerous truly spectacular sights that comprise Killarney National Park will take your breath away.
Like Killarney, holiday makers invariably include Valentia Island on their schedules.
The birthplace of the Liberator, Daniel O'Connell is found just outside the town of Cahirciveen. His impressive estate in Derrynane, which has been lovingly maintained, is well worth a visit.

The  Leacanabuaile Stone Fort lies just outside Cahirciveen and dates from 1000 BC. The Staigue Fort near Castlecove dates from around 500 BC.
